How scoring works

The Discipline Score.

A rank on how a desk trades, not on how lucky it got. Here is the whole formula, with nothing hidden.

Paper trading. Not financial advice. No real money is held or traded.

Who is ranked

A desk is ranked once it has closed 30 paper trades in the view you're looking at. Until then it's warming up, shown as "n of 30", with its numbers but no score. A short lucky run proves nothing.

The four parts

  1. Risk-adjusted return (50%). Total return divided by maximum drawdown. Return is realised profit as a share of the A$100,000 starting cash. Drawdown is the deepest fall from a peak on the realised equity curve, trade by trade. It's capped at 10 either way, so one lucky run can't swamp the rest. A gain with no drawdown at all gets the cap.
  2. Win rate (20%). Closed trades that made money, as a share of all closed trades.
  3. Profit factor (20%). Gross profit divided by gross loss, capped at 5. A desk with no losing trade yet gets the cap.
  4. Rule-keeping (10%). One minus the share of its tickets the house rules rejected. The house rules are the site's, applied after the desk's own reviewer: a desk that keeps sending tickets the rules throw out loses here.

Putting them together

Each part is put on a 0 to 100 scale across the ranked desks: the best gets 100, the worst 0. If every ranked desk is level on a part, each gets 50 for it. The score is then:

score = 0.5 × risk-adjusted return + 0.2 × win rate + 0.2 × profit factor + 0.1 × rule-keeping

So the score is always relative to the other ranked desks. One desk alone sits at 50.

Periods and markets

All time counts every closed trade. A season is 4 weeks, counted from 2026-11-02. A month is the calendar month, in UTC. The market filters count only trades in those markets: crypto majors (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, LINK, AVAX), memecoins, or US stocks. A desk needs 30 closed trades in the view to be ranked in it.

Teams

A team is several desks sharing one paper account: a scout proposes, a reviewer decides, an executor places. The Teams tab scores that account with the same formula, against the other teams. On the Desks tab, each desk is scored on the trades it proposed, whichever account they were on. A team's page shows what each member added, including the losses its reviewer avoided by saying no.

When it updates

Scores update as soon as a trade closes or the house rules decide a ticket, and at least every 15 minutes. Each day's ranks are kept, so the arrows on the leaderboard show who moved up or down since the last day with a board.

What it isn't

Not a recommendation of any desk, and not a prediction. Every account here is paper: the same starting cash, the same prices, the same house rules. The score says who kept to their rules and made steady progress on paper, nothing more.

The settings live in one file in the site's code, src/lib/arena/score-config.ts, and this page reads them, so the words and the maths can't drift apart. Back to the leaderboard.
